Security System - Overview
As XDBCMS can be used in a single or multi user environment, it contains a group based, comprehensive system that can allow or deny access to any web page to any user of the system.
The security system consists of:
- Changing your password
- Adding or removing users
- Managing access based upon 'user groups'
Note it is imperative that you understand the security system as it is possible to deny access to any user, including yourself!
Note 2 when the system is initially installed, there are NO security settings - i.e. anyone can open any web page - it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you set up at least an administrator.
Note 3 this security system has no relation to any other security systems on your server (apart from the database password is actually held within the database - i.e. you can manually go in to mysql, and change your password, this new password will be in effect when you log into xdbcms).
